Marcie and Lara have come together to form Creative Counseling Solutions in order to pursue the dream of an environment where children, individuals and families can grow together.
Marcie J. Smith LCPC NCC
Marcie J Smith earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and a Masters Degree in Counseling from National Louis University. She is registered as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois, a National Certified Counselor and a Professional Educator as a School Counselor in the state of Illinois. She has over 20 years of clinical experience in treating children, adolescents, adults and families using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy along with others. The settings that she has worked in have ranged from community mental health, psychiatric transition services, middle and high schools, animal assisted therapy, domestic violence agency, and leading social skills groups.

Lara White MSW LCSW
Lara has been working with children and families since 1986. Her graduate degree is in Social Work from the University of Denver. Lara continually seeks to increase her knowledge in her field and has advanced training in Infant Mental Health, play therapy, and trauma recovery for infants, children and adults. She has attended many conferences related to helping children on the Autism spectrum to learn social skills and uses the curriculum in her groups. Lara has had extensive experience in community mental health agencies, foster care, and interfacing with school systems.
